From cult to classic - a Sinema program for everyone!
From cult to classic - there's something for everyone in Caloundra City Council's 2007 Sinema Club line up.
This year Caloundra YouthLinx has joined forces with the Caloundra Cultural Centre to ensure the movie mix is more dynamic than ever.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said the Sinema film club concept was originally developed by young people to help them gain more experience in event management.
"They have been guided by Council staff through the Youthlinx program to develop a range of entertainment opportunities for their peers and the wider community," Cr Aldous said.
"While Sinema Club originally focused on cult films aimed at the younger generation from teens through to those in their mid 30s, the partnership with the Cultural Centre will see the program broaden to offer a range of movie entertainment for all ages."
Sinema Club will be held at the Caloundra Cultural Centre's Playhouse theatre every month on a Friday night or a Thursday morning.
Some of the movies being featured this year include Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, Casablanca and The Sound of Music.
The next movie to be featured by Sinema Club is The Sound of Music on March 29. A series of movies will be shown throughout MUFFFY - the Mondo Underground Film Festival for Young People in April, including the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
