STREET FEST ON THOMAS FIRES UP FOR MAYFIESTA
INTERNATIONAL acts and flavours will fire up Thomas Street during the 2008 Street Fest on Thomas proudly sponsored by Beckmans Green on Saturday May 10.
The event, organised by the Noosaville Association in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Beckmans Green Noosaville Family Estate, runs from 4pm to 9pm as part of the Mayfiesta program.
A variety of food stalls will offer specially-selected cuisines- including Asian, Italian, Vietnamese and contemporary Australian- for $10 and under.
Skilled international acrobats, performance artists and musicians will provide the free entertainment guaranteed to delight all ages.
Noosaville Association President Richard Polack said Street Fest showcased cuisines from some of the best restaurants in Noosaville and wider region.
"Noosaville has proven time and again it is a great destination in its own right,'' Mr Polack said.
"Last year's event attracted over 6000 locals and visitors and this year is shaping up to be even better.''

INTERNATIONAL quality acts from the Edinburgh and Glastonbury Festivals will display their fiery and acrobatic skills in a feast of family entertainment at the Street Fest on Thomas proudly sponsored by Beckmans Green on Saturday May 10.
Leading the line-up is stunt clown "Cosmic Colt'' Sandberg, whose talent with gunpowder, high stilts, fire and exploding fruit has seen him work in Hollywood films and circuses and mentioned in magazines and newspapers across the globe.
Colt Sandberg, who is also organizing performers for the Beijing Olympics, is one of six high standard performers hired to to delight the crowds in the 4pm to 9pm event at Noosaville.
"I did my first international street performers' festival in Noosa four years ago and I've done everything I could to get back here again,'' Sandberg said.
"The pace of life, the friendliness of the people, the community spirit, obviously the beaches and the food are hard to beat.''
Other performers include fellow fire-twirler Miss Malia and Scoot, a talented busker who won the All-Ireland Buskers competition in DunDrum, Northern Ireland and the 2007 people's choice award at the Hip Hat Hooray Street performers Festival in Newcastle England.
Lovers of physical comedy will enjoy Hans and Eva, a gymnastic duo who will perform their highly skilled trick sequences packed with apparent near misses, hopeless miscommunications, language goofs and lucky saves .
Complementing the performances will be a street full of stalls offering a global range of cuisines for $10 or less per serve.
Streetfest on Thomas, organized by the Noosaville Association, will also showcase the range of fine foods available Noosaville and the wider region.
"Streetfest on Thomas is an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy a great evening of family entertainment in a real carnival atmosphere,'' Noosaville Association president Richard Polack said.
"We invite everyone to come and see what this attractive riverside precinct has to offer.''
Thomas Street Noosaville will be closed to traffic from 12noon to 11.30pm on Saturday May 10.
