Council is offering free workshops to help people improve their cycling ability and understand road rules for cyclists. These workshops are run by accredited instructors, and a variety of workshops will be held to cater for all abilities. Council encourages cycling as an active mode of transport. It's fun, and is great for your health and for the environment.
The following workshops are available:
• Absolute Beginners
• Basic cycling skills for women
• Recretational Pathway Rides
• Become a better road cyclist
• Basic Maintenance
This workshop is for males and females aged 18 years and over who want to cycle, but have never ridden a bike and are not confident to start cycling. The course involves theory with an optionalal short bike ride at the end. Participants sit on a stationery training bike and given advice on bike set up, technique, gearing and brakes.
