13 February 2006 Agro hits Maroochy's major business networking event
Australia's favourite puppet, Agro, is set to steal the show at Maroochy's first major business networking event being held Wednesday 22 February.
Maroochy Shire Council's Economic Development branch aka 'Business Maroochy' has joined forces with the Sunshine Coast Area Consultative Committee (SCACC) and small business field officers to host the event hosted by Jamie Dunn, Agro and Jo Beth Taylor from Zinc 96.1.
"The night is set to be one of productivity and fun," Maroochy Mayor Joe Natoli said.
"Council is particularly interested in reaching the small home-based businesses that make up the majority of enterprises in the Shire."
Economic and Social Development Chair Councillor Greg Fahey said these businesses range from pest controllers to management consultants, and from hairdressers to landscaper gardeners.
"If people in business want to make new contacts, exchange ideas and establish new and exciting business relationships, then networking is the way to do it," Cr Fahey said.
The event will be held on Wednesday 22 February at 5.30pm until 7.30pm at the Innovation Centre at Sippy Downs. There is also a workshop explaining how to make the most of networking opportunities from 4.45pm.
