Annie will be one of the most memorable musicals to be put on at Noosa Arts Theatre. The talent among the enthusiastic young cast is outstanding and they are producing wonderful theatre with the creative direction of David Williams.

There are two Annie's for this long season. Libby Hendrie showed her versatility with amazing singing, acting and dancing in Showcase last year. Alexandra McLean, has sung the National Anthem before a crowd of 5000 Cairns basketball supporters and performed in Simon Gallaher's Showstoppers Dance Extravaganza.

Talent abounds also among the adults with the likes of Tim Murfin, Margaret Courtney, Andy Hanrahan, Jo Hendrie and Ali Enticott.

This musical is bound to raise the spirits and delight with its music, gutsy optimism and larger than life characters. The character of Annie is based on Little Orphan Annie, a comic strip character in the 1920's and 1930's, who brought hope, humour and light during the Great Depression.

Annie won 7 Tony Awards as the Best Musical of the Year in 1977. Memorable songs from Annie include Maybe, Hard Knock Life, Tomorrow, You're Never Really Dressed Without a Smile and Annie.

The Director, David Williams, a professional director from New Zealand now living on the Sunshine Coast, has a wealth of experience as an Artistic Director and has staged over 40 major musical productions.

Performances are on April 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, & 30, May 1, & 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 at 7:30pm with matinees on April 26 & May 2, 3, 9, 10 at 2pm. Tickets are Adults $30, Conc $26, Groups $24, Children $20. First night is $35 and includes supper and drink.
