Annual Dayboro Day Festival, incorporating Dayboro Antique & Collectable's Fair Sunday 30th May 2010 -- Williams and Heathwood Streets, Dayboro The main street in Dayboro comes alive every year on the last Sunday in May. That's when the Dayboro Day Festival is held - and we also incorporate our Dayboro Antique & Collectables Fair at the Dayboro Show grounds. There are many great activities to see and do at Dayboro Day.
The day begins with a combined churches service at 8am, followed by the Grande Street Parade at 10am and Opening Ceremony. The main streets are lined with fantastic street stalls showcasing homemade jams, lollies and cakes; heaps of crafts; local group displays; Police and Ambulance displays; and lots of yummy food. There is also the Great Dayboro Day Debate Debacle, Wacky Wheelbarrow Relay, Pineapple Pie Eating Competition and Helicopter Rides over the district. For the Kids there is the 'Passport to Fun' which will take them up and down the main street looking for clues and prizes and an animal farm as well as other great activities.
The Dayboro Antique & Collectables Fair promises to be an exciting time full of surprises for the avid Collector or first timer. There will be leading dealers from all corners of southeast Queensland exhibiting fine antiques and collectables at most affordable prices. There will be a multitude of fine English, European, and Continental and, of course, our own Australian Wares. We will also have a fine display of Queensland and Australian pottery. Experienced Valuers will be in attendance to give a verbal appraisal. Bring along that favorite piece you have acquired or maybe something that has been handed down as a family heirloom.
FREE PARKING is available at the Dayboro Show Grounds and a FREE SHUTTLE BUS service operates throughout the day, ferrying passengers between the Show grounds and the township, as the main roads will be closed from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
