The Sand Dollar - Maggie Christensen

Meet the author whose novels celebrate the mature woman! Maggie Christensen will be giving a talk after the library's October 20th meeting at 11.45am in the Main Woombye School of Arts Hall. The library's new publicity officer, Tony Harrington, has organised the event and we're hoping to make it a quarterly occurrence.

Maggie has written three novels about the mature woman and her travails, one of which, The Sand Dollar is available free to download from her website

After the 30 minute talk, there will be adequate time for questions and book purchases and signings.

Maggie was born in Scotland, emigrated to Australia in her twenties to teach in Sydney. Her husband is from Santa Barbara in the US, hence the knowledge of Oregon and California shown in her novels. Now retired and living on the Sunshine Coast Maggie is able to devote more time to her writing.

The Sand Dollar is the first in the Oregon Coast series moving between Australia's Sunshine Coast and the Oregon Coast. It is a story of new beginnings, of a woman whose life is suddenly turned upside down, and the reclusive man who helps her solve the puzzle of her past.
A Woman's Wisdom review said: Giving us characters most people can relate to on one level or another, this is genuinely heartwarming stuff which is well written and perceptive. This one is going straight into my Feel Good section.
