The team from the National Bunchy Top Project will present a short workshop showing how to identify the disease and what to do with plants that have it.

'How To' videos will be shown, there'll be a demonstration of plant management at a nearby clump of banana plants, and there will be plenty of time for Q & As.

To stop the spread of this serious disease in the district and ensure we all have healthy banana plants.

Banana Bunchy Top is a serious virus disease that threatens all banana varieties in commercial plantations and in backyards.

It is restricted to parts of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales and Noosa is on the northern most boundary of its spread.

We need to stop the spread to other regions, particularly the growing regions of Bundaberg and far north Queensland, and also ensure that home gardeners have healthy bananas.
