What will it take for Julia Gillard to be returned? Or will Tony Abbott be PM? And what sort of Government will he lead?
Federal politics for the past three years has been tough, personal, ugly and unedifying. Despite scandals and challenges, the minority Gillard Government has survived so far. Now a Federal election is set for September 14.
Once again veteran political observer Barrie Cassidy, host of ABC 1’s Insiders and author of The Party Thieves, brings to Noosa a team of Canberra observers with intimate knowledge of our leaders, their policies, election strategies and the polls:
Dennis Atkins, national affairs editor for The Courier-Mail where he writes Party Games, which analyses and laughs at the antics of our Federal politicians;
Nikki Sava, journalist; author of So Greek: Confessions of a conservative leftie; press secretary to Peter Costello, adviser to John Howard; and now columnist for The Australian; and,
George Megalogenis, author of Faultlines, The Longest Decade, and most recently The Australian Moment; number-cruncher; freelance journalist and these days Meganomics blogger.
What do their crystal balls tell them. What will it take for Julia Gillard to be returned? And what would a post-2013 Gillard Government look like? Or will Tony Abbott be PM? And if so, what sort of Government will he lead?
