Hollywood high-style in the Noosa Hinterland
There's more than a hint of Hollywood about the latest million dollar prize home offered by BoysTown Lotteries at Doonan in the Noosa Hinterland.
The charitable Lottery this week opened a stunning new prize home that was designed with inspiration from the breathtaking conceptual residences that dot the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California.
Well-known Sunshine Coast builder, Duncan Squires, commissioned Noosa-based Bark Design Architects to design the home for his family before going on to build the residence with his own building company.
Bark Design directors, Stephen Guthrie and Lindy Atkin, found inspiration for the house in their travels to Southern California where innovative and timeless architectural styles of the 1950s and 1960s have sparked a worldwide resurgence of interest in mid-Century modernism.
BoysTown Lotteries recognised the property's star power as its awe-inspiring walls of glass, elevated swimming pool and many mid-Century architectural references echo those often found in Tinseltown's glamour homes.
It's easy to imagine living the lifestyle of the rich and famous in this acreage residence which offers privacy as well as close proximity to Noosa Beach and upmarket dining and shopping on Noosa's famous Hasting Street.
The open plan contemporary home is suspended over a hillside and interconnects with its lush landscape via three breezy decks and several terraces that are all designed for outdoor living and entertaining.
It's easy to host family and friends in VIP style with an entertainment area in a cabana space - a breezy indoor/outdoor room adjacent to the swimming pool.
This upscale BoysTown prize home has enduring appeal whether its lucky winner chooses to hold the property or list it for resale according to Noosa property agent, Rod McLaurin of Tom Offermann Real Estate. "Our experience is that new acreage properties such as this in the very popular Doonan area are in strong demand," Mr McLaurin explains.
30 Bonavista Crescent is being offered by BoysTown Lotteries as part of a $1.2 million prize package that also includes a $66,507 Furniture and Electrical package and $20,000 Gold Bullion.
BoysTown's Lottery 366 will be drawn onsite at 11.00 am, Friday 18 May 2007, and will be open to the public from 9.00am to 5.00pm daily between 2 April 2007 - 15 May 2007, from 1.00pm on ANZAC Day 25 April 2007 and from 9.00am to 4.00pm on 16 May 2007 (closed Good Friday 6 April 2007). The Doonan prize home is also featured online at the BoysTown website at www.boystown.com.au. $15 tickets in Lottery 366 can be purchased at the prize home, online at www.boystown.com.au or by calling 1800 555 079.
BoysTown Lotteries' proceeds fund essential community services such as Kids Help Line, which in 2006 celebrated its 15th Anniversary. In 2005 Kids Help Line received more than 99,000 calls from children in Queensland seeking telephone counselling with 10% of these from the Sunshine Coast.
