Once described as uninhibited by direction, it is now clear that guitar genius Bruce Mathiske's many music influences have evolved into a style all his own. From the Calypso inspired 'Caribbean Daze' to the fiery fretwork of 'Gypsy Jaunt', Mathiske takes the listener around the globe evoking images of many cultures. From the virtuosic 'El Martes Gracioso' to the wistful 'Surrey Autumn' elevating finally to the majestic choral anthem 'Peace at Last'.
Mathiske is in for a huge 2007 with extensive touring throughout Australia to launch his new CD and writing music scores for documentaries including documentaries by Australian Geographic. They will air on the Nine network later this year and will presented by Sorrel Wilby of Getaway fame. The series is called The Best of Australia.
Bruce's usual range of genres include Swing to Latin, Jazz to African, Folk to Flamenco, gypsy to ambient/landscape simultaneously playing didgeridoo and more. His various music influences from his world travels and guitarists like of Chet Atkins, Jimi Hendrix, Leo Kottke, BB King, Barney Kessell and Al Di Meola have evolved into an exciting style all his own. Expect a night of stringed excellence and infectious rhythms and fiery fretwork from far flung corners of his guitar.
