In 2012 Buderim will celebrate its 150th Anniversary and will mark this significant milestone with a year-long calendar of programs and events.

The first of these events will be a tribute to Buderim's Living Legends, those people born or living on Buderim prior to the end of World War II in 1945 and who are still living on the Sunshine Coast.  One of these Living Legends is Monica Guy, a delightful lady who will turn 105 this month.

More than 40 Living Legends will attend a special morning tea in their honour on Sunday 6 November in the Buderim War Memorial Community Hall at 10.00am for fellowship and in some cases, reunion.  They have some wonderful stories to tell, many of which have been documented by the volunteers who have enjoyed pulling this exceptional event together.

Australia Day has been chosen as the official launch of Buderim 150th Anniversary and the date on which the Living Legends will take centre stage.
