19 May 2005 Bookings flood in for business networking event
Caloundra City Council's Economic Development Centre has received almost 200 bookings from businesses keen to get involved with one of the biggest networking events ever seen in the region.
Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said the response to Business Caloundra City - Connect Across the City indicated that business people from the beach to the hinterland appreciated what a valuable opportunity it was to network at this level.
"The strength of the response to date, and the comments we've received, show that people recognise the benefits of making connections with other business people," Cr Aldous said.
"We've seen strong interest from a truly diverse cross-section of the business community, including from hinterland and neighbouring shires.
"The power of effective networking can provide a real boost to all business. This event will provide an excellent forum for promoting what they do and building important contacts across the wider business community.''
Cr Aldous said bookings, which are still open, had come from virtually every area of enterprise and industry.
The event, jointly organised by Small Business Answers and Caloundra City Council, is on Tuesday May 31 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Caloundra Cultural Centre. Cost is $10 per person, which includes finger food and the first drink.
