Poet and career consultant show path to successful Sea Change
The Maleny Library will host a special event next month on the theme 'Navigating a personal sea-change - exploring your work and life options'.
Holistic career specialist Suzanne Davidson and poet Margie (MTC) Cronin will speak at the free event, sharing their thoughts on ways to find a path through life that is suited to the individual.
Suzanne Davidson, a respected speaker, aims to take the guess work out of creating balance between work and home life.
The former Sydneysider moved to Maleny with her husband, abandoning high-flying careers and top-paying jobs for a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. Together they run an academic publishing business and a consultancy called Life Artistry that helps people discover what they really want in life and how to achieve it.
The work of Maleny poet Margie Cronin first appeared in print in early 1993 and since then, she has published hundreds of poems, a handful of short stories and numerous reviews and essays in journals, magazines, newspapers, anthologies and CDs in Australia and overseas. She has won or been short-listed for numerous poetry prizes.
Her work is marked by an earthy relationship to the body, poetic and politic.
The event, which is part of Caloundra City Libraries' Sea Change program, will be held at the Maleny Library, 5 Coral Street, on Wednesday, July 26 at 6.30pm. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 5429 6222 - supper will be available.
The Sea Change program is funded by a State Library of Queensland strategic development grant and looks at the impact on the individual and the community of the 'sea change' phenomenon with a number of guests and special events.
