The Queensland Air Museum will host the Caloundra Fire Station Major Exercise next Tuesday 22nd April 2014 at 17:00hrs.
An aircraft has “collided” with second aircraft when landing. One plane (simulated by a bus) has lost its wings and caught fire. People are still trapped in fuselage. Ply sections on the bus indicate areas that can be cut. The second aircraft has lost all electric’s and has several people trapped by height and injuries.
Crews to be prioritised to rescue of people, from both aircraft, and fire fighting (running fuel fire) to enable rescues to be achieved. Staging area for responding crews is Caloundra Fire Station.
To test Location Specific Operational Plan for:
• Operations Doctrine - Incident Directives, Incident Action Guides, Incident Forms; - Ability to liaise with outside agencies;
• Appropriate response and operational procedures;
• Communications plans;
• Time response;
• Real time response;
• Suitability and effectiveness of equipment and PPE; and
• Operational readiness
Cadets, from 223SQN Caloundra, Royal Australian Air Force, will participate as “casualties”
