Celebrating our City's libraries

Australian Library and Information Week is certainly cause for merriment: in fact this year's theme is 'Celebrating Libraries'.

Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said the week's festivities - from May 23-29 - are dedicated to raising awareness of the value of libraries and information services and professionals across the country.

"Australian Library and Information Week not only allows us to promote our City's Libraries but also recognise the active role they play in enriching the lives of residents and visitors," Cr Aldous said.

Each of the City's library branches - Beerwah, Caloundra Central, Kawana and Maleny - will take part in the celebrations, with activities planned throughout the week.
