Strike a pose at Noosa Regional
Gallery Family Day
This month's Family Day activities at Noosa Regional Gallery will be inspired by the new exhibition of Australian fashion photography from the 1960s and '70s in the exhibition Strike a pose...with Lee Lin Chin.
The free event offers a range of art activities that aim to encourage children to create artworks inspired by the exhibition, which has been put together by the SBS news presenter, Lee Lin Chin -- a well-known fashionista.
Sunshine Coast Council's regional galleries curator Nina Shadforth said kids can be the artistic director of their own fashion shoot.
"Dress up a friend or family member in sixties and seventies fashion and strike a pose," she said.
"Activities include paper construction and observational drawing skills of the human form to create a contemporary fashion range."
Sunshine Coast Council's Community Programs Councillor Jenny McKay said all ages can participate.
"By exposing children at a young age, both to creating art and viewing it in galleries, we are developing in them an appreciation of art that will give them great pleasure for years to come," Cr McKay said.
The Noosa Regional Gallery's creative team of volunteers guide and support children through their artistic adventures and accomplishments.
All activities are engaging, safe and children's artwork can be taken home.
Don't forget the famous sausage sizzle at noon.
