Against a background of confusion and conflicting reports on global warming, it’s no wonder Australians are scratching their heads.

Governments are talking tough but will they deliver? And where does this leave our Government? How does it manage the economic cost? How tangible will the benefits be?

In what will be a lively forum, four eminent Australians, Prof John Hewson AM, Prof Bob Carter, Geoffrey Cousins and Des Moore grapple with the issue.

Deciphering the science and managing the politics will be a crucial test for the Abbott Government. And what should we make of the latest IPCC report suggesting trends in atmospheric temperatures may be incorrect?

One thing you can count on, this is one debate where the temperatures will run red hot!

Moderator - Former Federal Minister in the Hawke Government, Gary Johns.
