Community tree planting day at Cornmeal Creek
Community groups, Greening Australia and Maroochy Council will work together on Friday, 4 March to plant 1000 local native plants as part of the Cornmeal Creek revegetation project.
Members of the Traill Park Community Conservation Group, West Maroochy Progress Association and Green Corps trainees will work with Greening Maroochy and Council officers in establishing a vegetation zone adjacent to Cornmeal Creek.
The project aims to improve and maintain the biodiversity of the Cornmeal Creek area by restoring native flora and fauna habitats.
The revegetation site is adjacent to a major walkway and in the long term will provide a shaded walkway for pedestrians.
