Concert of "Mad March Melodies"

A lively mixture of Marches and Melodies will dominate the "Mad March Melodies" Concert, performed by the "Big Band" sound of the Sunshine Coast Concert Band under the baton of Ken Chadwick OAM.

This annual concert will be at the Maroochy Baptist Church, Wises Rd., Maroochydore, at 2pm on Saturday 26th March.

Admission at the door is $15 (which includes the afternoon tea donated by the parents of the students at the Nambour Special School). Every $ raised will be used to buy more equipment for their autistic students.

As usual, Music Director, Ken has organised unique arrangements for maximum variety - ranging from Sousa, Colonel Bogey and Bob Cat Marches, through to songs such as "Granada", "Sweet Caroline", "The Holy City", and on to more classical pieces such as the beautiful Intermezzo from Cavalliera Rusticana.

As a special treat, the Wynyard family of Todd, Angelique and son Josh will trumpet (at a very fast pace) the "Bugler's Holiday".

Alan Winter will swing through "New York, New York" as well as other well known hits, and singers Bev Gourlay and Aart Schouten will duet the beautiful "Wishing you were somehow here again",  and as a finale, will sing a medley of songs (in costume) from the musical "Kismet".

There could be no more variety than in this concert!    For more details, check out the SCCB's website

Come and enjoy, and support the most worthy cause of raising funds for the Nambour Special School.
