An exhibition of technical abstractions
December 30 to January 19 2005
Opening Saturday January 8, 2 pm

Katie Tooth, Noosa artist, currently residing on the Gold Coast, is the winner of the Gold Coast City Art and Design Award 2004. This young artist has become an inspiration to young artists throughout the Sunshine Coast.

"Katie is a perfectionist and this is mirrored in her work. A great deal of planning and forethought goes into each piece that Katie meticulously prepares. Her current body of work - an exhibition of technical abstractions, defines perfectly the essence of Katie's style. These artworks, subtitled "technical abstractions" display the keenness of eye and steady hand that is indicative of a good draughtsman - one that is concerned with the precise technical drawing skills that underpins the whole tradition of painting. She is driven and inspired by her personal research into the methodology of line and structure and the effects that this can produce."
Lorraine Kypiotis (Katie's CSIT lecturer)
