Would you like to enhance your wellbeing, build better relationships and develop resilience in challenging times?
Accredited Cultivating Emotional Balance (CEB) teacher Corey Jackson will be sharing tools and techniques to achieve these aims at Chenrezig Buddhist Institute at Eudlo, in May.
CEB is an evidence-based training that blends mindfulness and compassion with tools for understanding and managing our emotions. The secular (non-religious) course is suitable for anyone wishing to live a happier, more constructive life.
Course participants will learn the skills to greatly increase wellbeing and resilience by reducing destructive emotional responses and enhancing positive states such as compassion, empathy, altruism and pro-social behaviour.
The CEB course includes a psychological component based on the ground breaking research into emotions by pre-eminent American psychologist Dr Paul Ekman, the author of Emotions Revealed. Participants will learn how to understand which emotions are the most beneficial or harmful, and what commonly triggers these emotions.
The mindfulness component of the course puts a strong emphasis on ways to enhance genuine happiness and diminish habits that create obstacles to happiness.
Corey Jackson said the program would help people recognise their emotional triggers and gain skills to counteract “harmful” emotions.
“I will also be teaching techniques for cultivating favourable emotions, such as compassion and happiness, that help us achieve genuine lasting happiness and well rounded emotional balance,” Mr Jackson said.
The CEB course runs over three weekends in May and participants can choose to attend the weekend introduction course or take part in the entire program of six full-day sessions. The dates are:
