World Environment Day is celebrated each year to remind us that we are the guardians of our natural environment. In the Currimundi catchment with its intertwining waterways, walkways, green belts and remnant bushlands, we are privileged to be surrounded by so many natural assets.
One of the best ways to enjoy the different ecosystems is by paddling slowly along the waterways where the experience of natural open space is nature’s best relaxant.
If you have a kayak or canoe, or can hire or borrow one for the morning, come with us on a guided "Currimundi Kayaking Adventure” on Sunday 2nd June to celebrate World Environment Day.
The tour will start from Crummunda Park, Coongarra Esplanade, Wurtulla at 10am, take a leisurely paddle under the bridge and into Currimundi Creek South Arm following the Currimundi Canoe Trail markers. If time permits, we’ll also paddle into the North Arm. The pace will be suitable for all ages but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and wear a flotation device.
We will return to the park by midday.
