Dave Wood's Exhibition 'Feast for the Eyes' will open on Saturday morning at 9am with a Champagne Breakfast at the Atrium Gallery, Main Street, Buderim.  Dave's work is unique worldwide and this will be the first showing of his stunning new collection in Buderim, having  recently relocated from Batemans Bay where he and his wife ran their gallery for over 11 years.

This exhibition will be over the weekend of 29/30 April only and 20% of all proceeds from the sale of his work will be donated to the Sunshine Coast Health Foundation, to support their new Cancer Unit.

"It gives me great pleasure to support this really worthwhile cause" said Dave, "given that my wife suffered from cancer many years ago and she now lives a very active and happy life".

"We are delighted to be working with the Sunshine Coast Health Foundation on this project".

Dave will be exhibiting original works of art as well contemporary illuminations and limited edition prints.   Imaginative interpretations of famous literature are brought to life through finely handcrafted paper sculptured works or perhaps you might prefer the more traditional illuminations on Vellum.  This exhibition communicates his sensitive and unique approach to the lettering arts.

Dave Wood is the only Artist in the world to combine 3D paper sculptured images with lettering. He travels extensively as the demand for his teaching has exploded worldwide. Workshops have been held recently in South Africa, Japan, UK, USA and Europe.

Wood's artwork is timeless and conveys a unique style that is highly sought after. Most recently he was invited as a featured artist in the Hidden Treasures exhibition at the Noosa Regional Gallery. His work has been exhibited extensively throughout the world and is housed in many private and corporate collections.

"My focus is always to bring my illuminated works into the 21st century, rather than copying those created in the medaevil times" said Dave Wood.  "In an endeavour to communicate with the viewer at a deeper level, I use my creative skills and experience as a  graphic designer over the past 45 years to render works of art which are both meaningful and timeless".

If you have the chance to catch Dave and his work during this weekend exhibition, you won't be disappointed.  The Gallery will be open both days from 9am - 5.00pm.
Other times you can visit Dave and  Jan at their studio gallery in Pomona, but it is preferable to ring 5485 2968, prior to visiting.
