The highlight of the night will be the interview with legendary surf cinematographer Dick Hoole by the Sunshine Coast Daily's Bill Hoffman. Dick will also be available to sign memorabilia and clothing specially made as a memento of the night.
Following the interview the film Tubular Swells will be shown. The Dick Hoole / Jack McCoy films started with Tubular Swells. Shot in Australia, Indonesia, and Hawaii, this 1975 feature film captured the "Bustin Down the Door" era of Rabbit Bartholomew, Mark Richards, & Shaun Tomson. With the post production expertise of David Lourie, Tubular Swells focused on new faces and new places. The first film to reveal G-Land, Shipwrecks, and Padang Padang, it is still rated as one of Australia's most popular surfing films. It's a true classic and not to be missed.
