Digital scanning workshop
Have you got grandma's treasured photo album or boxes of old holiday snaps that you would like to preserve for the future?
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of scanning and digitizing photos as well as show you some tips and tricks for saving and organizing the images. Bring along a few of your old photos and try it out for yourself.

Going Local Going Green
Noosa Library will celebrate World Environment Day and Local Government Week on Thursday 5 June at their 'Going Local Going Green' event. Councillors Lew Brennan and Russell Green will be serving customers at the library counter so come along and have a chat. A green cake will be served at 10.30am when Councillor Green will leave his post at the counter to talk about ecoBiz - a community program aimed at improving the eco-efficiency of businesses within Noosa Biosphere area.
Come along and learn how you can make environmentally-friendly changes in your household. For instance, if you are keen to find out how to install a rainwater tank, you'll get your answers here.

Cultural Connection @ Noosa Library
Noosa Council Library has been successful in obtaining grant funding from Multicultural Affairs of Queensland to contribute to delivering a multicultural program in 2008. Noosa Council Library will promote languages and cultural diversity in the Noosa region through a 12 month workshop program: Cultural Connection @ Noosa Library. The program will represent all continents and highlight a different culture on a significant date each month including Bastille Day to promote French culture, Carnevale to promote Italian culture etc. The program will include workshops on food, dance, bi-lingual storytelling, language, conversation classes, music and art, as well as displays to promote each culture and multicultural services.

Growing up Filipino
Featuring Filipino dancing and Brisbane author Erwin Cabucos who will talk about growing up Filipino. He will also cover topics such as challenging the myth of the 'mail-order' bride and the tendency for some Filipinos to readily sacrifice their body for spiritual and family good.

Battle Games @ Noosa for kids over 10 yrs. Every Saturday in the Noosa Library meeting room from 11am to 2.30pm. Come along and you will find the armies of Warhammer - Skaven, Elves, Space Marines or Lizardmen strategically battle each other. B.Y.O Armies and game books. Roland Harvey in the library: our chance to hear him speak
The popular author/illustrator of "at the beach: postcards from crabby spit", "in the bush" and "in the city" will extend his stay on the sunshine coast to talk at Noosa library on Wednesday 4th June at 6:30pm.
Following two days of talks and workshops at voices on the coast youth literature festival at university of the sunshine coast, Roland will speak to local fans in a special evening session at the library.
Roland Harvey's unique illustrating style, with a host of intricate details tumbling all over the page, is very accessible to young children and older readers alike. Take this opportunity for a warm cosy chat with Roland about his art and the ideas that make his books so much fun to read. Tea, coffee, and a warm cup of milo for the kids, will keep us warm while we listen.
