Get Wet At Buderim Aquatic Centre's 'Dive-In' Screening of SURF'S UP

Buderim Aquatic Centre is set to hang ten and get tubular when the popular animated feature 'Surf's Up' heads poolside for a 'dive-in' movie on Tuesday, 14 December.

Buderim Aquatic Centre manager Tracy Mitchell says movie-goers can float in the pool and watch the film.  "But if you don't want to get wet -- no problem, there's plenty of grassed areas at the pool to watch the movie on dry land".

The Buderim Aquatic Centre doors will open to moviegoers from 6pm, with the screening starting around 7.00pmish. BYO floaties, noodles, lilos for the pool, or blanket, beanbag or chairs. Inflatable chairs and beanbags will be available for hire. Lifeguards will be on hand to assist with pool supervision.

"The cost is only $7 per person, and free for children under 3 years of age," says Tracy. "The price includes pool entry after 6pm"

Please note that all minors under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. No alcohol, food, or glass will be allowed into the centre. Food, drink and a bbq will be available for sale on the night.

As Tracy cheekily adds, "Our dive-in movie will be so much fun, you'll wet yourself!"

A bit about the movie...

This story follows a teenage rock hopper penguin named Cody Maverick from his hometown of Shiverpool, Antarctica, where all of the other penguins think he's nothing but a surfing fool, to the "Big Z Memorial Surf Off" on Pen Gu Island.

Young Cody is determined to win the most important competition in the world of penguin surfing in honour of "Big Z," a deceased surfing legend whom he has idolized since childhood. But the waves in Pen Gu are different than in Shiverpool, and the competition is steep. The current champ, Tank Evans, isn't just about to let this little penguin knock him from first place without a fight.

When Cody wipes out and encounters Geek, a recluse aging former surfer living in the jungle, he learns some important lessons about life and surfing, and even teaches Geek a thing or two.
