Lucky shoppers will be able to reflect on the wonderful success of the Montville Produce Markets on Saturday the 12th of November when The Looking Glass Theatre presents “Mirror Show”, a 1950’s travelling Mirror Maze, on the Village Green!
“The Montville Community was so supportive when our daughter Kizzie was critically ill in 2010” comments the theatres director, Daniel “that we wanted to show our appreciation somehow and as the markets is another example of the community coming together to support each other it is an ideal opportunity for us to return that support”.
This Mirror Maze was renowned around country shows during the 50’s and 60’s until it found a home at The Adelaide Showgrounds in 1975. It was put up for sale in 1998 when the showgrounds were undergoing re-development and made a few appearances at The Woodford Folk Festival before undergoing restoration to highlight its 1950’s glamour and will soon be making its way around country shows, festivals and events again.
Entry to the maze will be a gold coin donation to the Montville State School’s P&C while the markets will be bustling all around the village green with stalls selling locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables; flowers and plants; home made produce; fresh breads and cakes; organic foods natural juices and gardening products. Of course there is a delicious, pancake breakfast and an organic sausage sizzle with a professional barista serving up freshly roasted fair trade coffee to sustain the dedicated market goer.
The doors open at 7:30 am and produce is available till 12:30pm More information on the markets at http://montvillevillageassociation.com.au/markets.html
