A raunchy Australian comedy, Farewell Brisbane Ladies by Adelaide playwright Doreen Clarke, is set to bring the house down with laughter when it opens at Nambour's Lind Lane Theatre next month.
Director, Dennis Coleman is well known for his acting performances on the Coast and as Director of the BATS production "Dinkum Assorted". For his Lind Lane debut he delivers a slice of Australian life from the other side of the tracks. A two hander, the play is set in North Queensland and revolves around two ageing 'working girls' from Brisbane, Gertie and Winnie.
Gertie, played by Judy Fredriksen, has retired to anonymity and living the quiet life in Northern Queensland when she is visited by her alcoholic, ratbag ex-colleague Winnie, played by Debbie Pitura, who tries to persuade 'old Gert' to go back into business. "They're rough around the edges, and audiences will really enjoy the great flair and comic timing these two talented ladies bring to the stage", says Director, Dennis Coleman
The season runs September 14, 15, 21, 22, 26, 28, 29 at 8 pm, Matinees on September 16 & 22 at 2 pm.
