Festuri, a multicultural celebration takes place from Friday August 27 to Sunday August 29.  The festival is supported by the multicultural community on the Sunshine Coast together with Maroochy Shire Council, Caloundra City Council, State Government, Sunshine Plaza, University of the Sunshine Coast, Win Television and a number of other sponsors. 

The celebration commences with the opening concert at the Kawana Community Hall from 7pm until 10.30pm on Friday August 27.  The concert features international and local acts from cultures around the work including Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Irish, Italian, Columbian and many more.

The celebration continues on Saturday 28th with a free concert at the Kings Beach Amphitheatre at Caloundra's Kings Beach.  This concert features cultures of the Pacific.  Bring your lai and enjoy music and dance with the Hawaiian, Samoan and Maori communities.

An evening of Latin dancing takes place on Saturday August 28 from 7pm until late at the Norton Park Golf Club, Maroochydore.  Learn different styles of Latin dancing from expert teachers until 8.30 and then salsa, lambada and samba your way through the rest of the night.  Tickets are $12.00.

Concerts and performances are the highlights of The Great Multicultural Celebration to be held on Sunday August 29 at the University of the Sunshine Coast.  Celebrate our cultural diversity, relax, lie back with a plate of your favourite exotic cuisine, a long cool drink and watch exciting performances from around the world.  The performers include Indigenous Gubbi Gubbi dancers, Cuban drumming, Spanish dancers, Caribbean music, belly dancing, European folk music and dance, gypsy music, Greek dancers, Samoan dancers and more...The day commences at 9.30am and concludes at 4.30pm and includes arts and crafts stalls and rides for the kids as well as a grand parade of many nations, all with traditional costumes.

An art exhibition will be incorporated into the day.  The exhibition includes 'Through Rose Coloured Glasses' and portrays a group of culturally diverse women's lives and histories through art.
