Council's Creative Noosa Unit and local artist Madonna Rogers will be running free workshops at Pomona and Kin Kin during the forthcoming school holidays, where participants will be creating from paper, cane, fabric and 'found' objects sculptures for public display.
Project Officer Katie Edmiston said all ages will be welcome to attend, as the workshops can be tailored to children, families, young people, seniors and other artists.
"The completed sculptural pieces will be used to decorate Stan Topper Park at Pomona and the Kin Kin Sports Ground, to mark community events being staged in conjunction with the "Noosa Enduro" mountain bike ride on July 15th.
Sessions will be held at the Pomona Memorial Arts Hall on June 25th and July 2nd, and at the Kin Kin Memorial Arts Hall on June 26th and July 3rd . Two sessions will be held each day between 11 am and 1 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Bookings are essential with Creative Noosa on 5472 0222 and children under ten years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
