Free transport to see Jessica Watson and Ella's Pink Lady
Sunbus are set to shuttle proud Sunshine Coast residents and visitors to Mooloolaba so they can welcome home Jessica Watson on Sunday June 6.
Special shuttle services will operate between the University of Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs and Mooloolaba Bowls Club between 10am and 5pm.
Depending on traffic the services will run at 20 minute intervals.
Translink and Sunbus urge people to leave their cars at home and catch the free shuttle bus. Traffic and parking congestion in Mooloolaba on any given day can be problematic. Sunday's predictions outstrip anything the Sunshine Coast has ever seen before. Simply Park and Ride to avoid inevitable delays and frustration.
" The only way to easily enjoy Sunday's festivities is to take advantage of these special services. The more people we can get to Mooloolaba to see Ella's Pink Lady enter the harbour, the more spectacular her welcome home will be. Free shuttle services will help achieve this.
" Sunbus owners, Transit Australia Group, and all staff congratulate Jessica on her incredible achievement and commend her spirit and courage,"
Ms Megan Harkin, Group Manager, Strategic Planning and Delivery, Transit Australia Group said.
Jessica's arrival is superbly timed to coincide with World Environment Day, so be sure to visit the 30th annual Sunshine Coast World Environment Day Festival at the University of the Sunshine Coast between 9am and 4pm..
