Free tree time for City's Division 10 residents
Caloundra City Council will have a strong presence at the Caloundra Coast Guard Classic Boat Regatta next weekend (August 5 and 6) including a free tree giveaway for Division 10 ratepayers on Saturday morning.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said he was pleased to see Council involved with the regatta, "an excellent event run by a great organisation".
Divisional Councillor Greg Singh said Council would host a native plant giveaway from 9am to noon on the Saturday morning, with two free plants for all Division 10 residents who bring their rates notices along.
"Across the whole event, Council officers will also be on hand with information and advice regarding local waterways, coastal conservation, the environment , weeds and pest animals,'' Cr Singh said.
"Our weed experts will offer a Weed-for-Tree swap as part of their education program,'' Cr Singh said.
"People who bring along a garbage bag full of weeds can swap it for two free plants."
No rates notice is required for the swap but it is limited to one bag per person
