This may be the most important seminar you'll ever attend - our youth is in crisis - is it a male issue or masculinity issue?
In my work as a PE and Outdoor Education teacher, as a mediator in the juvenile justice systems of Australia and the USA, working with teen gang members, and men in prison, I have met few truly bad people. Their heads however were filled with what I call unhealthy forms of masculinity. Without exception most were grateful when I helped them develop tools to step out of the old programming and embrace a healthy masculinity—a sustainable masculinity.
My desire to reach more men and boys motivated me to write the Sustainable Masculinity Series of short books for men. Currently enjoying a lot of publicity is "Kicking a Goal for Masculinity." The book is a must read for Australian males who love sport. It invites and motivates sportsmen to promote a healthy form of masculinity - it contains inspiring stories from men in sport.
I'm taking the Gen Y seminars around Australia because I'm concerned we are following the violence trends I've experienced in the USA. Sporting communities, coaches, players, administrators, teachers and parents, are ideally positioned to help prevent the escalating violence.
Please come along and explore some of the options and solutions to the increasing violence. Remember violence triumphs when good men, women or communities remain silent!
