Sunshine Coast Council is urging local small businesses to embrace the digital economy – or risk falling behind in the digital age.
Economic Development portfolio councillor Stephen Robinson said a wide range of mechanisms under a program called Get Up To Speed (GUTS) are in place to help Australian small businesses seamlessly employ digital technologies, and Sunshine Coast businesses are encouraged to take advantage of them.
“Already, more than 500 businesses across Australia have participated in the nation-wide program, with some exceptional results, including those from the Sunshine Coast region,” Cr Robinson said.
The Get Up To Speed program is supported by BroadbandToday.com.au (an amalgamation of 125 councils across Australia and New Zealand), of which Sunshine Coast Council is a founding member, and is being developed and delivered by The Creative Collective
The program costs $495; during the 12-week program the topics taught include evaluating your online presence, digital marketing, website design, search engine optimisation, social media, pay per click and cloud computing, amongst other topics.
Sunshine Coast Council is offering a $50 discount to Sunshine Coast businesses; you can access this by quoting BBTGUTS when registering for the course.
