Gardening gurus to converge in Glasshouse this weekend

Don Burke, step aside, as the coast's own army of gardening and plant experts converge on Beerwah for the Glasshouse Country Garden Expo this weekend.
For everything to do with gardening, the environment and water, you can't miss the FREE expo, which kicks off at the Beerwah Community Hall and Turner Park from 9am on Saturday.
Featuring workshops, plant clinics, guest speakers and displays, the expo offers something for everyone with an interest in gardening and the environment.

Community groups encouraged to get in early for garden expo
Local community groups are being encouraged to register their interest in the second annual Glasshouse Country Garden Expo, to be held on Saturday 26 May in Beerwah.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said interested groups should get in early if they want to have a display at the event, with places expected to fill quickly.
"Judging by the success of last year's event, I encourage local clubs to get their application in early to avoid missing out," Cr Aldous said.
This Caloundra City Council sponsored event in partnership with commercial supporters will feature local gardening groups as well as volunteer groups involved in Environment, Water, Health.
Divisional Councillor Anna Grosskruetz, who has allocated $10,000 discretionary funding for the event, said this year's event is expected to be bigger and better.
"This year's keynote speaker is Annette McFarlane, ABC radio gardening talkback host and TAFE lecturer," Cr Grosskruetz said.
The free event will be held from 9am to 3pm at the Beerwah Community Hall and Turner Park. Registration forms are available from all Council Libraries, Caloundra City Council's website (www.caloundra.qld.gov.au
