The Glasshouse Hinterland Lions have a huge day of AFL football this Saturday (June 5) at their home ground, the Landsborough Sports Complex. There are 4 games spanning 9 hours to keep the football mad supporters entertained.
To kick off the day, the Under 16 team will play against Kedron/Sandgate at 10am. Glasshouse Hinterland are on the bottom of the ladder this season but they will leapfrog Kedron/Sandgate with a victory on Saturday. Depending on the final result, the Lions could end the weekend in fourth position.
After the junior's match, the AFL South Queensland Division 2 Men's teams will play against Griffith University Gladiators. First up is the Reserves at 1215pm. The Reserves have had one win and a draw this season and would love to register a victory for their home fans and also to congratulate player, Craig Salter, on his 50th game for the club this weekend. The A Grade men follow on from the Reserves at 215pm. A credible loss last weekend will give coach Darren Giles some positives to work with at training and, hopefully for the team, this will transfer to a good win against the Gladiators.
Last event of the day is the "Lionesses" who play Morningside Wildcats at 5pm. The women had a heavy defeat last weekend and are looking forward to cementing their position in the top 5 of the AFL Queensland Women's League ladder with a win against the much fancied Wildcats.
