Go 'Across the Coral Sea' at Nambour Library with Mal Meninga
An enlightening exhibition that focuses on our Coral Sea heritage and its legacies.
The State Library of Queensland's exciting and informative photographic exhibition : Across the Coral Sea: Australian South Sea Islanders in Queensland, has docked at Nambour Library.
Based on historical images from the State Library of Queensland's John Oxley Library, this exhibition portrays the way in which South Sea Islanders arrived, lived and worked in Queensland in the nineteenth century
This exhibition will be on display for FREE at Nambour Library (Cnr Currie and Bury Sts) from 14 March - 1 April.
To coincide with the multicultural day of celebration - "Harmony Day", Maroochy Libraries invites you to the opening of this exhibition on Monday 21 March from 10.00am, at the Nambour Library.
Come along and view this free exhibition, and enjoy guest speakers, entertainment and food.
Featuring special guest speaker Mal Meninga AM, Patron of the Australian South Sea Islander Board of Advice and Rugby League Great.
