Grace Adamson Gawler Cansurvive Cancer Visit
Cansurvive Cancer support Centre based in Nambour is having the following support meeting at the Cansurvive Centre as follows:
A woman who is recognised as both a pioneer and world expert in the area of cancer support,
Grace Adamson Gawler,is visiting the Nambour area on Tuesday 26th October at 10am The meeting will be held as part of the fortnightly cancer support group at the Cansurvive Support Centre, based at 136 Nambour Mapelton Rd, "Crescent Place Integrated Health Centre"
Members of the public are welcome to attend this informative and greatly supportive meeting. The Cansurvive support groups are donation only and includes morning tea.
Grace Adamson Gawler was instrumental in forming Australia's first cancer Support movement in the early 1980s and since then she has worked with more than 10.000 people as they have searched for life meaning, quality of life, and the skills to use their illness as a positive turning point in their lives.
She said that despite much progress in mind body medicine, the vital attention to emotions and spirit was either not acknowledged or, at best, was given cursory recognition. "it is time for holistic medicine in it's truest sense, to become the cornerstone in both patient care and the training of healers of tomorrow"
Grace Adamson Gawler is the author of the book " Women of Silence" A book for the journey of living with cancer.
