GREASE electrifies Gympie this weekend!
After it's hugely successful debut at this year¹s Toyota Muster, Grease will be presented in Gympie this weekend for four electrifying performances!
This full scale production is being presented by Gympie-based musical theatre company, the Zodiac Players under the direction of well-known Peter Blythe and choreographed by Rita O'Neill and Kathy Hood.
Since breaking out on Broadway in 1972, Grease's place as the world's No 1 feel-good family musical has been firmly established, having seduced the hearts of millions all over the world. With back-to-back unforgettable hits including You're The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin', Gympie's Grease will be presented by a full cast of over forty talented actors, singers and dancers - in the original costumes used in the Arena Production of Grease which toured Australia in 2005 starring John Farnham.
After being housed in a circus tent at the Muster, the huge sets have had to undergo modifications to suit the Civic Centre's Heritage Theatre, and the Cooloola Shire Council are assisting with the hiring of the computerized lighting and sound systems.
"We could not have staged this production without the invaluable assistance of the Apex Club of Gympie and the Apex Muster Committee" production co-ordinator, Sandy Mayfield commented.
So if you missed it at the Toyota Muster, or want to enjoy it all over again, BOOK NOW to see Danny and Sandy as they join the groovy T-Birds, those sassy Pink Ladies and the whole gang at Rydell High for the biggest rock'n'roll party of the year! Matinee and evening performances will be presented on Saturday September 29, 2pm and 8pm and Sunday, September 30, 1pm and 5pm, with bookings now being taken at Gympie CD Centre in Mary Street (Phone 5482 2615).
