A Free Community Forum on the federal election has been organised for this Thursday night, 6pm to 10pm at the Ivory Palms Resort, Noosaville.
Numerous issues covering all portfolios would be discussed during the 4 hour community feed-back session.
The free community event is an opportunity for community members to be provided with information about issues affecting or likely to affect them.
Many Sunshine Coast residents don’t know that the coast is already being CSG drilled and hundreds more CSG mines are due to go in close to where they live.
A map of the Sunshine Coast with all the CSG mines and exploration licences highlighted will be displayed.
Information on many issues will be available - small business, the economy, employment, tourism, public transport, roads, housing affordability and homelessness, health, education, law and order and social issues such as voluntary euthanasia.
Community members will be able to access information and have an opportunity to respond to that information. There will be an open session where community members can speak about any policy issue which is of concern to them.
Marshall Perron, the former Northern Territory Chief Minister, will speak briefly on voluntary euthanasia at the meeting.
Politicians are often accused of not listening; this is a perfect opportunity for community members to have their say on the federal election and issues which are of concern to them.
Those wishing to attend the free event can show up at the door, or to secure seating, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
