Free Sports Disability Education Program
Noosa Council, in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission's Active After School Communities program, is offering two free workshops for coaches and others involved with people with disabilities. These workshops on Thursday evenings March 15th and March 22nd at The J, will provide hands-on instruction for coaches and support people of all sports, to better enable them to include and work with people with disabilities in their programs.
The first workshop on March 15th entitled "Count Me In" is presented by highly experienced staff from the Australian Sports Commission, and is open for anyone involved in the provision of sporting opportunities for people with disabilities. It includes simple and usable strategies for adapting and modifying activities.
The second workshop on March 22nd entitled "Inclusive Coaching" is designed to provide coaches with best practice for working with people with disability.
All workshop participants will receive free resource books and Certificates of Participation for Disability Education Programs completed.
