This year's Queensland theme for International Women's Day is 'Women striving for a peaceful society'. Women are involved in creating peaceful communities in many ways and devote considerable time in promoting awareness of a range of issues which demonstrate their role as strong women who create strong communities.

The Noosa Library is sharing stories from Toni Hoffman, Bea Williams and Angela Hoxton as an inspiration to other women who have gone beyond the call of duty to make life better for other Queenslanders.
