It's a Dog's Life at Guide Dogs Queensland's Open Day

Guide Dogs Queensland is opening the gates to its Breeding and Training Centre for loads of family fun at the Association's annual Open Day on Sunday, 4th July, from 10am to 3pm.

The day is a fun event for the whole family with a puppy parade, newborn puppies in the whelping block, guide dog training demonstrations, displays by customs dogs, fly-ball competitions and dog agility demonstrations, kids rides and jumping castle, entertainment, food stalls and much more.

This year there will also be a special obstacle course race to help promote the upcoming Sunday Mail / Suncorp Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run from which funds raised will go towards Guide Dogs Queensland.

There will also be educational displays on mobility aids for vision-impaired and blind people, including hi-tech laser canes and Ultracanes.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to see some of Queensland's newest guide dog puppies, only three weeks old, born on the 16th June and staying with mum "Kirra" in the Whelping Block.
