Giveaway honeymoon for a lucky Sunshine Coast couple
The best day of their life is going to become even better for a lucky Sunshine Coast couple when Buderim-based Russell and Turner Travel Associates gives away a $4,000 Thailand honeymoon at next week's it's my wedding Expo on September 26.
With the average Aussie couple spending $28,000 on their perfect nuptials, the honeymoon is often compromised in order to cover costs which average $2,300 on the brides gown, headpiece and shoes, $170 per bridesmaids dress, a reception of about $11,000 and photography and video for around $3,300.
"As couples invest so much in their wedding, we know how important it is that they get it right and the Expo gives them the opportunity to find the best the Coast has to offer in one location. Couples need peace of mind that the hard-earned dollars they are spending are with suppliers who will come through on the day," said Dee Collins, event organiser of the it's my wedding Expo.
"We are delighted to be able to offer prizes on the day that will really alleviate the financial pressure for the lucky couples thanks to our wonderful sponsors. In addition to the Thailand holiday, Gowns of Excellence have donated two $1,000 gift certificates towards any of their gowns, including Jonathan James couture for which they are the exclusive stockists in Australia."
The expo features everything a bride might need with displays, workshops, fashion parades and the chance to speak one-on-one with people like celebrants, hair and make-up stylists, photographers, caterers, venue operators, entertainers and florists.
The pre-nuptial agreement workshop with Leisa Toomey of Schultz Toomey O'Brien promises to be a popular addition as couples find out more about the value of a pre-nup in establishing a sound financial foundation for the union.
"Whether it's preparing invitations or organising hen's parties, arranging honeymoons or accommodation for guests or even choosing a wedding planner, having the professionals on hand to supply the information, identify and discuss options and provide solutions, affords couples the opportunity to make discerning choices," said Dee.
"We still have a limited number of stands available but have seen a great response from exhibitors who realise the potential of having so many eager brides in one location. We are very excited with the great range of products and services on offer."
The Thailand honeymoon includes two nights in Phuket and two nights in Bangkok staying at Banyan Tree plus a $2,000 voucher for flights and transfers from Russell and Turner Travel Associates.
