Japanese Sister City visits Maroochy
Maroochy Council will officially welcome and host a Mayoral Delegation from its Japanese Sister City Tatebayashi this week.
The visit from the Tatebayashi delegation will include a Sister City kite display in Mooloolaba featuring Maroochy's Black Swan kite and a Tatebayashi created Japanese Kite.
The delegation will also be official guests of Maroochy Mayor Joe Natoli at the launch of the Tatebayashi Art Exhibition 'Hands of Friendship' in Montville tomorrow night.
The exhibition will include works by five Japanese artists including wood workers, Japanese doll makers and visual artists, along with five local Maroochy artists who are involved with the Sister City art exchange.
When: Friday 28 July 2006.
8am - 8.30am: Sister City Kite Display, Mooloolaba area, adjacent to Buderim Avenue and Mooloolaba Road.
10am - 11.30am: Official Welcome at Maroochy Shire Council Chambers, Nambour.
2pm: - Visit to the Botanic Gardens, Turning of the Soil for the Japanese Gardens, Tanawha.
5.30pm: Official Opening of the Tatebayashi Art Exchange 'Hands of Friendship', Main Street Art Gallery, Montville.
