Join John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat at Caloundra Library

Interested to know how one renowned Australian author spins a good yarn?

If so, then you're in luck because much-loved author Jenny Wagner will enlighten guests on the story behind her classic children's book, John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat at Caloundra Central Library on Wednesday June 1 from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.

Caloundra City Acting Mayor, Gordon Wallace, said Caloundra Central Library will host Jenny's visit as part of the prestigious Voices on the Coast program - a regional community event which brings some of Australia's finest writers, poets, illustrators and performers to the Sunshine Coast.

"Jenny's visit marks a unique opportunity for Caloundra City's residents and visitors to interact with a celebrated Queensland author," Cr Wallace said.

During her visit, Jenny will not only read John Brown, Rose and the Midnight but also illuminate for guests her inspiration behind it.

Jenny, who won the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award (Picture Books) for both John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat and The Bunyip of Berkeley's Creek, will also answer questions on writing and offer tips on getting published.

There is no need to book for this event but to find out more, contact Caloundra Central Library [Omrah Ave, Caloundra] on 5491 1255.
