Big roll-up expected for Kawana Skate Park meeting
Sunshine Coast Council is hosting a public meeting tomorrow (Wednesday 6 October) to give the local community a say on entry arrangements and future plans for the Kawana Skate Park.
Division Three Councillor Keryn Jones said all interested users of the facility are invited to attend the meeting, to be held from 3pm to 4pm at the skate park, beside the Kawana Aquatic Centre in Sportsmans Parade, Birtinya.
"The aim of the session is to discuss a six-month trial of new entry arrangements and to hear people's thoughts on future directions of the skate park,'' Cr Jones said.
She said that the trial would mean that users will have direct, free access to the park, rather than the current arrangements where entry is only available via the aquatic centre.
"We will also talk about the creation of a reference group to ensure this excellent community facility is managed as efficiently as possible and that we have good lines of communication in place to address and resolve any potential issues.
"Council is inviting representatives from Kawana State College, the police, Kawana Aquatic Centre and, most importantly, the skate park users, to get involved."
