Nominations are still open for teams to enter the Great Team Challenge at this year's 23rd Annual Kin Kin Country Carnival Sunday the 8th October 2006 from 9am.  So get your Business, Social Groups or Friends together for your chance to take home the $1000 reward.  All you need are 5 people to a team. One to run cross country, Two to Mountain Bike cross country (BYO bike), Three to throw a thong (we provide the footwear!!!), Four to chuck a broom, Five to help with Chinese style water carrying and then all together for the Great Team Tug-O-War.


Punters get ready for this year's Pig Racing at the Kin Kin Country Carnival bound to be a great laugh and loads of fun to see.  Also Free kids rides and activities all day, Novelty Events, Market Stalls, Live Music, the Woodchop Arena, free Whipcracking workshops & competitions, Face Painting, Horse and Cart Rides, Animal Nursery and loads more.

So come and stick your head in a bucket and bob for an apple for the funniest Novelty Events you've ever seen!!!!  This is the only way to wash your face after you've eaten a marshmallow & cream filled pie with your hands tied behind your back as people cheer you on.


Don't forget to come and camp in Kin Kin Saturday night and attend the augural Carnival Music Night the 7th starting at 7pm.  Live performances by Fire Tree, Barry Charles, Brides of Groove and Kaffka will head line this year's Music Night.  Adults $12 con $8.  Licensed bar & loads of tucker at the Kin Kin Hall.

The Kin Kin Carnival is more then a Country Carnival……………… it's a TRADITION.


The Kin Kin Country Carnival is an annual event held in the Kin Kin hinterland township 30 mins drive from Noosa.  It has been running for 23 years and takes place on the sportsground at Kin Kin, located behind the main street in town.  The day kicks off at 9.00am and rounds-up at 5.40pm.


Off street parking is available.  The admission price is $14 a family, $6 adult and $3 children.  Enquires to Jo-Anne or Gerry on 54854177.


The day has a number of feature events:

  • Queensland Woodchop 18 event program, including 250mm Combination Woodchop Championships - events commencing 9.30 am and continue all day.
  • The Great Kin Kin Teams Challenge - 5 members to a team, competing in broom throwing, thong throwing, mountain bike race, foot race and chinese style watering carrying events.  Points are allocated to each placing and event will conclude with a tug-o-war play off for first prize $1000.  For nominations phone: Jo-Anne or Gerry 54854177
  • Whipcracking championships for juniors and seniors along with Whipcracking workshops from 11.00am
  • Pig races held throughout the day along with Novelty events including, Nail Drive, Apple Bobbing and Cream Pie eating, cash prize money up for grab.
  • Kin Kin Great Mountain bike ride 15km - on trail 1 of the Noosa Trail Network.


Along with these great events there will also be:

  • Free entertainment for the kids all day including, train rides, giant slide, giant worm, swing set on chairs, jumping castle, face painting and animal nursery.
  • Displays by the Combined Coastal Car Club and Sunshine Coast Antique car club
  • Lots of Market stalls
  • Licenced bar and plenty of tucker
  • Live music on the grounds and entertainment by KKarimba and Birth of Ranakankan.


This will be a fun, action packed day for the whole family.  So come on out to Kin Kin and experience our country carnival like never before.


Kin Kin Music Night Saturday the 7th October at the Kin Kin School of Arts Building, Main Street, Kin Kin,  7pm till late, licensed bar and food available.  Adults $12, con $8. 4 great local and metropolitan bands to get you jumping.  Camp the night and head to the carnival the next day.  $5 p/p night with amenities available.
