Sunshine Coast Council’s Social Infrastructure Strategy 2011
recognises the need for provision of well designed, good quality, easy
to access facilities and services that will encourage people to connect
with each other.
The strategy acknowledges the importance of planning social infrastructure to create strong and vibrant communities and provides a solid framework to achieve this vision.
On Wednesday 31 August, Social Strategy Portfolio Councillor Anna Grosskreutz will officially launch council’s Social Infrastructure Strategy 2011 and elaborate on the role of council and developers in implementing the strategy.
The strategy is a 20-year blueprint that aligns with council’s vision for an affordable and sustainable future. It informs Infrastructure Agreements to ensure that land is secured and sets the framework for building strong alliances and partnerships with the development industry to deliver social infrastructure to meet the needs of our community.
The Social Infrastructure Strategy aims to strengthen the Sunshine Coast as a community of communities by encouraging involved and connected communities through shared use of facilities.
The strategy is also focused on providing opportunities for economic benefits for people and business of the Sunshine Coast.
